Ecosystem Services

Our economies rely on nature. They’re underpinned by ecosystems, biodiversity and natural resources. Ecosystem services are all the things that nature does for us.  From food to fresh water, clean air, medicines and safe places to live, our quality of live depends on them.

The problem is that we don’t account for the value that ecosystem services provide.  This means we tend not to notice Natural Capital being used up and have no financial incentive to protect it.
